Essential Oils for Dummies
Me: Welcome to my podcast all about essential oils, their uses, and our personal experiences using them. I decided to bring a co-host with me for an extra shared experience. So to start out I would like to really define what these oils are used for specifically. I would say a common misconception of essential oils is that they are a cure-all. This is not the case and people using them know this. Personally, I did not use essential oils growing up until age 16. I decided to start using these because I can no longer have pain medication of any kind. My mother first introduced these to me as she discovered the uses for them herself. Will, when were you first introduced to essential oils and how do you utilize them?
Will: ** Will then talks about his experience and how he came across this alternative medicine.
Me: I would now like to discuss what oils are used for what. Personally, I use an app called “Essential Oils Reference Guide” this app gives a whole lot of information on oils. You are able to search for a symptom and how to use the oil. For example, I had a stomach issue last week and found that you can use the oil called Di-gize and place it under the ears and along the jawline. I had never heard of this before but it helped clear my stomach ache within the hour. They do also suggest different things such as diluting the oil in water and drinking it etc. Anyway, the oils I mainly use are peppermint, thieves, lavender, and eucalyptus. I use peppermint mainly for headaches. This oil is very strong so I typically dilute this oil in coconut oil to avoid irritating skin and eyes. Thieves are typically used for stomach pain and even protecting against sickness like the flu. Lavender is used for anything involving the sense of calm. I mainly use this before going to bed and diffusing it into the air. Lastly, I use eucalyptus as I do for peppermint, typically peppermint. Will, which oils do you use and for what?
Will: ** Will goes on to talk about which oils he uses and what for.**
Me: Please keep in mind there are so many different oils that can be used for multiple things. But also oils have almost universal uses. I plan on putting out another episode talking about how you can make homemade products using essential oils and what brands of essential oils are the most trustworthy. If you buy a bottle of oil that simply smells like the essential oil it is not the same as a true essential oil. Please look out for further information on upcoming episodes!
Will: * Will talks about the importance of essential oils**
Me: Thank you for listening! We love spreading awareness of this alternative medicine. There are a lot more topics about essential oils that I plan to talk about in the future so look out for future episodes.
Me and Will: Thanks for listening!!
